MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The family of a Madison teenager is shedding light on the mystery behind her death. This week a Facebook page managed by Abigail Bonner's family revealed clues on how she died.

The teen's uncle started the Facebook page "Looking For Abigail" just after she disappeared.

This week an audio recording of her memorial service was posted where the officiating pastor conveyed to the audience Abigail's cause of death at the request of her parents.

"Talking with Lance and Rachel they were clear that we needed to be honest about what has happened to Abigail. The death of their beloved daughter at her own hand, just 17 years old, is the worst example I can think of death's unwelcome intrusion," said the pastor.

Madison police say they're still treating the case as a pending death investigation although they don't believe foul play was involved.

"We have no indication from the scene that there was a struggle or placement of her," said Madison Police Chief Gene Waldrop last week.

WLBT contacted Abigail's mother, Rachel Bonner, Friday.

"It is our feeling she chose to leave and was not taken. We don't have a note to show that and there is no evidence to show that she was the victim of foul play," Rachel Bonner said during a phone interview.

Madison police say the only true cause of Abigail's death will be determined by a toxicology report, which could take several weeks to complete.

Lt. Eddie Lawrence says they have a copy of Abigail's funeral service and are aware of the comments made there regarding her cause of death.
