CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

A cleaning crew in a Chandler medical office was surprised by a man with a gun early Friday morning.

The crew was cleaning the office near Ray Road and the Loop 101 Price Freeway shortly after midnight when they were met by the man with a gun, said Seth Tyler of the Chandler Police Department.

The crew was able to escape and call police, Tyler said.

Tyler said it wasn't clear whether the man wanted to rob the crew or burglarize the building, but police brought in a SWAT team to clear the building.

They didn't find the suspect, Tyler said, who added that the suspect was dressed in black and that nothing appeared to have been stolen.

No other description was available.
