Having fun doesn't have to come at a high cost. There are plenty of things to do in South Mississippi this weekend that are free or don't cost much.

Go to a show that's bound to educate you on both guns and knives. The Classic Arms Productions Gun and Knife Show is Saturday and Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. You can buy; sell trade, or just window shop hundreds of displays of new and old guns, ammo, gun parts, books, knives, knife sharpening, coins, camouflage and other related Items at discount prices. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

Coast Young Professionals invites you to move your feet to help feed the needy. The annual Walking on Water bridge walk is rain or shine on Saturday and the concept is simple. Go alone or bring a friend and walk the Ocean Springs –Biloxi Bridge with hundreds of others. To join the walk just show up and bring a nonperishable food item.  Last year the CYP collected 841 pounds of nonperishable food items and more than $100. This event brings out hundreds throughout the day so prepare for a crowd. The walk is 3.7 miles round trip. Plenty of cold drinks will be chilling just for you.

Put on your cowboy boots and head over to the Island View Casino for Country night on Fridays. There's always live entertainment during country night.  This Friday the featured country singer is Poplarville's very own Lisa Lee Albritton. Country night starts at 9 p.m. But if you get there early at 8:15 p.m. you can take country dance lessons so when country night actually starts you can look like a pro instead of someone without any rhythm. Admission is free and beer bucket specials will be offered.

More than 100 old model vehicles and bikes will be at downtown Bay St. Louis this Saturday for an event that benefits Shriner's Hospital for Kids. The Masonic lodge classic car and bike show features raffles food, music and more.

Bring the family over to Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve for a kayaking adventure. Jennifer Buchanan offers a free paddling program for first timers. All attendees will be able to either join a guided kayak adventure or go out on their own. Kayaks will be available while space is available.
