HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - It will be two weeks before any decisions are made regarding the future of the Lorraine Road Bridge. That's when local leaders will receive a report on the recent bridge inspection.
Gulfport's chief engineer Kris Riemann told WLOX News that report from Volkert Engineering will provide information about what the testing found, including a new rating for the bridge. If that rating is below 50, that will likely mean the bridge should be replaced.
Riemann said if the specialists determine temporary repairs can be made to reopen the bridge, they'll provide those recommendations.
