GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) crews are busy on Highway 90 Tuesday clearing sand off the road.
Much of that sand ended up on the roads following the weekend's storms. Those crews started the cleanup work on Monday.
Sand not only creates a possible hazard for drivers, it can also clog the storm drains. It will take highway department crews several days to remove most of the sand from the highway.
Please be careful and aware of workers as you travel the roads along the coast.
