Brandon passes "liquor by the drink"

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Brandon has joined Flowood and Pearl in approving liquor by the drink. Wine and liquor can be sold by the glass in the city's restaurants as soon as the Board of Aldermen set the regulations governing liquor sales.

The final vote was 3,051 for and 1,910 against.

Supporters have pointed to the tax revenue the city will receive from alcohol sales.
