Drag racing causes accident on Hwy. 80

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A 23-year old Jackson man has been arrested by police after drag racing and causing an accident.

Officer Colendula Green tells us Jarvez Henderson was drag racing on Highway 80 at Robinson Road. He was headed east when he was clocked at 90 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Henderson ran a traffic light and hit a maroon Tahoe. The Tahoe spun out of control and landed on a black SUV. Henderson and the two other drivers were taken to UMC.

Henderson has a broken leg, but was taken into custody for three old warrants, and three old tickets he had not paid.

Henderson is now charged with driving with a suspended license, no tag, no insurance and disregard for a traffic device.

The other two drivers suffered minor abrasions.
