Police investigate shooting of teen and another man

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating an early morning shooting, where a teen and another man were found shot.

Jackson Police Spokeswoman, Officer Colendula Green said officers responded around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday morning to the 800 block of Grandberry Street.

Green said when the Precinct Three officers arrived they discovered a 19-year-old black male shot in the leg and a second victim, a 20-year-old black male, shot in the back. Detectives interviewed both victims and they stated they were walking down Grandberry Street, when an unknown vehicle drove up and began shooting at them.There wasn't any other information provided.

Green added, there were shell casings found in the 2700 block of Lilly Street.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital and are in stable condition.

Green said there are no suspects or motives at this time.

Police are asking that anyone who has information pertaining to the shootings, call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477) or the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234.
