BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Head coach Gabe Fertitta and his Rockachaws compete in the Region 8-4A ranks.
St. Stanislaus may not be considered a contender for the region title, but they are expected to pick up the pace and some wins.
Fertitta said,"We have 13 seniors this year and I'm really proud of the leadership those guys have shown."
A major reason St. Stanislaus will have a chance at cracking games under the win column... this young man... quarterback Tyler Allen.
The 6-foot, 158 pound senior was a bright spot for the Rockachaws offensively last season.
He passed for 17-hundred-70 yards and 17 touchdowns.
"It's not just me that does it," Allen stated. Without the offensive line and the receivers, I couldn't do what I do being able to have them in the game and getting them the ball is an important factor to our offense.
Senior wide receiver Brennan Bradley snagged 43 passes, 821 yards and 9 touchdowns last season and he'll be a prime-time receiver for quarterback Tyler Allen.
Freshman running back Brandon Berry is going to get his share of carries and he'll split time with a few other Rockachaws including Ben Hughes.
Defensively St. Stanislaus is trying to build confidence and toughness. Head coach Fertitta says they have improved.
"There's a lot of experience so we're really excited about that and the defensive unit has really stepped up throughout the spring and summer."
Linebacker Joe Guillot brings loads of experience to the St. Stanislaus defense.
Guillot said,"To definitely go out there and not to worry about how they do but to go out there and give a 110 percent all the time."
St. Stanislaus has a new stadium complex and it will serve as the setting for Friday's jamboree game against D'Iberville beginning at six.
The Rockachaws officially open the 2013 regular season August 23rd, hosting the Hancock Hawks.
