Mold found inside Diamondhead's new public library

DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) - Hancock County leaders are scrambling to figure out what's behind a mold problem at the new East Hancock Public Library in Diamondhead.

The $1.3 million library has only been open for five months, and mold has already surfaced on most of the ceilings in the 7,000 square foot building.

County leaders had the mold tested. Officials with the engineering firm overseeing the test tell us it is not black mold and it's not toxic.

Still, leaders are trying to figure where the mold is coming from and what it will take to get rid of it.
