MORTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Scott County man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman Saturday night in Morton.

Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee says Grover Lloyd, 53, is charged with murder in connection with the slaying of 44-year-old Renae Marie Brown.

Scott County Coroner Joe Bradford said Brown was shot once in the chest with a 12-gauge shotgun at a residence at 759 Thornhill Road in Morton. She died at the scene around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lee said the two were in a relationship and the shooting happened after an argument.

Lloyd surrendered to deputies when they arrived at the couple's home Saturday night.

He's scheduled to make a court appearance Tuesday morning.
