JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Multiple wrecks have tied up Friday evening traffic in the metro.

Pearl police and multiple ambulances and fire trucks responded to an accident at Highway 80 and Airport Road. At least three people were transported from that accident with unknown injuries.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation reported two wrecks on Interstate 55 northbound Friday night.

The first one was at Fortification Street. A second crash, at Pearl Street, involved a Jackson police officer. The cruiser appeared to have spun around and hit a concrete barrier.

Another crash shut down one lane on I-55 southbound at Daniel Lake Boulevard for nearly an hour during the Friday afternoon commute.
