Fundraiser, blood drive set for injured paramedic

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

First responders have scheduled two events to help an American Medical Response paramedic. Jennifer Hesselbein was severely injured in an accident while she was working.

Between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, the Monterey Fire Department in Rankin County will be collecting donations at the intersection of Highway 468 and Monterey Road. It's a four-way stop. Donations are needed for Hesselbein's medical expenses.

On Sunday, between 1 and 6 p.m., a blood drive will be held at Fire Station 2 at 3954 Highway 468 in Pearl.
