MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A 5-year-old, who was found safe Thursday morning at a fire station, says a woman took her out of the school and told her to get in her car. Although, the police report says a concerned parent dropped off Ta-Keira Davis at the fire station.

The fire station where Davis was found is more than a mile away from her school, Westside Elementary.

Davis says she was in the hallway with other classmates Thursday morning when a woman told her to "come here".

"It was a lady," said Davis. "I don't know her name, but she was holding my hand. She was holding my hand tight."

She says the woman had a braid down the middle of her head. The woman told her to get into a black car. Davis said there was a boy in the back seat.

"She asked me what's my mother's number. I said, 'I don't know' and then she stuck a needle in my hand."

Davis' mother, Tyrese Oliver, does not know what to think.

"It doesn't sound right. It doesn't, because she's never done this," said Oliver.

Davis told her mom the woman had other needles.

"Two needles on the back of the seat," she said. "Then, she took me to the fire station."

The police report says:

"A concerned parent observed the victim walking in circles at Thomas and Frayser while driving her son to school at Westside Elementary."

Oliver says, no matter what happened, the ordeal was devastating.

"I just broke down," she said.

But she says the principal and school staff were reassuring.

"[The principal] was really concerned. She was there and the board members and security. So I 'm going to give them a second chance," said Oliver.

The school system is conducting an internal investigation. Davis' mother took her to the hospital just to be safe.

Early reports stated the girl wandered to the station, but she would have had to cross Highway 51, which is a four-lane road, from the school.
