HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Full House Resorts is moving ahead with plans for a hotel at its Silver Slipper property in Hancock County. In a news release Thursday, the company announced plans to construct a 140-room hotel on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Last Friday, Full House Resorts secured a $10 million loan, which will be used to fund a portion of the $17.5 million project. The remaining $7.5 million will be funded from available cash.
The company expects to sign construction contracts, and give a notice-to-proceed within the next 30 days. They estimate construction will take approximately one year from ground-breaking.
Full House Resorts purchased the Silver Slipper in October 2012, and promised county supervisors at that time that a hotel was part of the company's future plans for the property.
