New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton announced Wednesday that wide receiver Joe Morgan and defensive end Kenyon Coleman will miss the entire season due to injuries.
Morgan is out for season with a torn ACL and Coleman has a pectoral tear.
The Saints were counting on both players to be big contributors this season.
"Just a few notes on injuries. I wanted to get back to you on Joe Morgan. Two things: meniscus tear and he'll have that repaired, and also an ACL repair," head coach Sean Payton said. "It's not a full ACL but this will be season-ending for him. Obviously that is significant and that surgery is being done today."
"Kenyon Coleman has got a pectoral tear.
He's going to have surgery most likely tomorrow and most likely that will be
season-ending for him as well. So there's two players that are significant.
Obviously they are losses, and we have to find some guys to step up and take
The defensive line has now become a big concern for the Saints after losing several players.
Victor Butler is out for the season after a tearing an ACL earlier this year and Martez Wilson has been out several weeks with an elbow injury.
The Saints signed veteran wide receiver Steve Breaston earlier this week after Morgan injured his knee in Saturday's scrimmage.
Payton said he liked Breaston's experience and his good workout, although he will have a challenge trying to get up to speed for Friday's preseason game against Kansas City.
