Update: Sand Beach Authority clears sandy sidewalks

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Tuesday, the Harrison County Sand Beach Authority cleared sand from less than a mile of sidewalk starting at Treasure Bay, west to the old Broadwater property.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation told WLOX News it's the city's responsibility to maintain the sidewalks on both the north and south sides of the highway. However, the cities of Biloxi, Long Beach and Pass Christian were reluctant to say they are responsible.

The cities did say that both M-DOT and the Harrison County Sand Beach Authority have helped with clearing the sand when necessary.
