HADLEY, MA (WSHM) -

Police have released the identity of a man whose body was recovered from the Connecticut River Monday night.

According to police, the body of Christopher A. Patterson, 54, of Newton was found by a diver approximately 13 feet below the surface and around 25 feet from where he reportedly fell from the dock at Sportsman's Marina in Hadley.

Calls came in that Patterson was missing around 11 p.m. Monday.

Hadley police, fire and State police assisted with the recovery.

The circumstances surrounding the drowning are still under investigation and officials say it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
