Grandmother and 6 grandchildren lose home to fire

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A grandmother and her six grandchildren are out of a home Sunday afternoon following a house fire that destroyed their home, according to the Biloxi Fire Department.

Anita Seymour said she and two of her grandchildren were home at the time of the fire. They made it out unharmed. However, one of their dogs is dead. Two of their dogs were rescued from the home by a neighbor. And their cat is still missing.

According to officials the home is located off of Randall Drive which is just north of Pass Road and west of Popp's Ferry Road.

Seymour tearfully told WLOX her church--Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi had just donated school supplies and clothes to all six of her grandchildren. All those supplies and clothes were burned in the fire.

Seymour said she has full custody of all of her grandchildren and was recently widowed. She also said she has no home owner's insurance.
