WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) - Remember those news reports last December about roughly $400,000 of missing money at the Stone County Economic Development Partnership. The embezzlement allegations forced the temporary shutdown of the county's development office.
Now, Stone County's economic development group has a new director and a new assistant director. Mike Turner is the new director. On Monday, he'll be meeting with Stone County supervisors to go over next year's budget.
WLOX News contacted Stone County Supervisor Scott Strickland on Friday. He told us the Monday budget talks were a clear indication Stone County was serious about bringing more business to the area.
