CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Admitted kidnapper and sexual predator Ariel Castro describes how he abducted Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus in a newly released sentencing memorandum.

According to court documents, Castro lured Knight with promises of a ride and got her inside his home with promises of a puppy for her son.

Amanda was also promised a ride by Castro. Court documents state that he lied, telling Amanda his daughter was inside his home and that she taking a shower.

Gina was 14 when she was abducted while walking home from school. She too was offered a ride by Castro.

The court documents state he let the three women keep a diary. They described physical, emotional and sexual abuse and "dreams of someday escaping and being reunited with family." The entries also speak of being locked in a dark room, treated like an animal and being held like a prisoner of war.

Castro admits to "having the girls chained by their ankles, with only one meal a day, showering infrequently, while he had 'sexual relations' with them."

Castro claims he gave them all a chance to escape in May 2013 by leaving Amanda Berry and her daughter's door unlocked.
