Overnight Shooting in South Jackson

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Police are investigating a shooting near a south Jackson apartment complex. The shooting happened at 10:15 Tuesday night in the 2900 Block of Terry Road.

According to Jackson Police, a 29 year-old man shot a 26 year old man in the right forearm.

The accused gunman is now in custody, and charged with aggravated assault.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.

That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
