Members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol's interdiction unit seized six pounds of ice with a street value of more than $225,000.

Warren Strain, Public Affairs Director for the MS. Department of Public Safety, said the drugs were seized during a stop on I-20 Saturday.

The ice was found in a hidden compartment in the vehicle.

The driver, 38-year-old Rafael Mendoza of Riverside, California, was arrested and is currently being held in the Rankin County Detention Center awaiting his initial court appearance.

Ice is a highly purified and potent form of crystal methamphetamine.
