Woman killed, daughter survives fiery interstate crash

WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson woman was killed, but her daughter survived a fiery one car crash Sunday morning on I-20.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Odis Easterling said 54-year-old Susie Draper died at the scene.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m.

According to investigators, Draper was driving a silver Pontiac Vibe eastbound in Warren County when the vehicle ran off the road at the Flowers exit.

The vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned.

Draper's daughter, 35-year-old Takedra Draper was a passenger.

She was transported to River Region Hospital where she was treated and released.

Both women were wearing seat belts.

Both the Culkin and Bovina Fire Departments responded.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
