Autopsy complete for Saucier teen killed in boating accident

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

The autopsy for the Saucier teen killed in Tuesday's boating accident has been completed. According to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove, Mason Turner, 15, died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The tubing trip ended tragically Tuesday afternoon at Gulfport Lake when Turner and another person were riding in an inner tube being pulled behind a 21-foot boat.

The Department of Marine Resources patrol investigators said they were riding at the Industrial Canal when the inner tube swung a little too far wide, struck an embankment, then hit a tree. Turner died at the scene.

The other person riding in the tube was injured and taken to Gulfport Memorial Hospital. That person's name has not been released.
