D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - The new Sangani flyover in D'Iberville will open this Thursday, and that's good news for drivers and businesses in the busy retail area.
It was supposed to open on July 15, but weather delays pushed the opening date back.
Work began more than a year ago on this project. Crews have worked around the clock, day and night, to make sure the flyover bridge was completed by the August target date.
It's designed to help alleviate traffic congestion at the busy intersection near I-110 and Sangani Boulevard.
The new overpass bridge has a vertical clearance of 17 feet over Highway 67. There's also a five-foot pedestrian walkway on the bridge.
An official ribbon cutting event for the flyover will be held next month.
