WLOX News: Invest in our youth

We often brainstorm, meet and discuss how best to improve our community. There are many good things happening here for the betterment of our future on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Isn't it obvious that an investment in our youth is the best investment for our future?

We were very pleased to see the support shown by the community for the Boys and Girls Clubs at the annual Steak and Stake Dinner. The boys and Girls Clubs mission? "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."

If you want to invest, invest in our youth at the Boys and Girls Clubs. It's an investment in character and leadership building, education and life skills. Your return on investment is improvement in our community through our youth.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to editorials@wlox.com, or post your comments below.

The banging may be finished for now on Division Street in Biloxi. But the problems for neighbors are far from over. Some claim the infrastructure work has damaged their homes and they want contractor Oscar Renda to make good on the repairs.
