Officials note more surface movement than normal at sinkhole

BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) -

Officials report there has been an increase in activity at the giant Louisiana sinkhole Friday.

They said there is a lot more surface movement than normal and it started around 5 a.m.

Assumption Parish officials added there is a burp event in the center of the sinkhole.

A crew is headed to Bayou Corne to investigate these latest developments in this ongoing issue and will have an update on 9NEWS at 5 p.m.
