JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Brazen crooks robbed a Jackson Family Dollar store in broad daylight, and police are now sharing the surveillance video in hopes they can make arrests in the crime.
Security video of the Family Dollar store on Medgar Evers Boulevard shows two men walking inside the store, heading straight for the counter. Officer Colendula Green says the robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
One of the robbers is armed with a handgun. The gunman is seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a bandana covering his face. His partner in crime, the second robbery, is shown in a gray shirt and khaki pants.
The man with the gun points it at the cashier, then both robbers jump over the counter, and begin emptying out the register.
The video shows customers were inside the store standing in line when the crime took place.
No one was hurt, but the workers who were held at gunpoint were visibly shaken. Surveillance video shows one store employee curled up in the corner, lying on the floor.
After they empty the register, the two crooks take off running. The men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
If you know who these robbers are...or have any information in this case, you're asked to call Jackson Police or Crimestoppers at 601-355-8477.
