JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police say two men are behind bars after they led officers on a chase in stolen vehicle Wednesday.

Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department said officers saw a vehicle that had a stolen license plate and tried to pull it over off McDowell Road at Maria and Dianne drives.

Green said the driver fled and two men eventually jumped out and ran away on foot. Officers were eventually able to apprehend the two men.

Green said officers ran the Lincoln's VIN number and discovered the vehicle was stolen during an armed carjacking. She said the vehicle had also been used in several other felony crimes earlier in July.
