HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The former leader of the Simon City Royals gang in Hattiesburg has been indicted on federal charges in Florida accusing him of at least 17 criminal acts dating back to 1998.

Jason Bullock, 37, is charged with conspiracy in conjunction with a racketeering operation.

Allegations include participating in a 1998 bank robbery in Seminary, aggravated assault, kidnapping, attempted murder, intimidation of witnesses, and drug dealing. The indictment also alleges co-conspirators bribed Forrest County deputies on five separate occasions in 2008 to deliver contraband to Bullock, who was in jail on witness intimidation charges.

According to the indictment, Bullock now lists his home as Century in Florida.

For years, Bullock was the Hattiesburg leader of the Simon City Royals, a Chicago-based gang whose main base of operation in Mississippi was located along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Bullock is expected to be arraigned on the charges Friday in federal court in Hattiesburg.
