Memorial opens new facility in Biloxi

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A new medical center has opened its doors on the Coast. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon at the new Memorial Physician's Clinic and Diagnostic Center. It's at the intersection of Popps Ferry Road and Tommy Munro Drive in Biloxi.

The new medical center will serve as a one-stop shop for a variety of services.

"We've been in Biloxi with pediatrics and some of these sub-specialties like neurology, specifically orthopedics. We are relocating those to this new larger campus," says Gary Marchand of Memorial Hospitals.

On top of these things, the center will offer family medicine and a walk in clinic.

The Pascagoula Panthers open the 2017 football season on the road. In fact, their first three games are road contests. That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
