Escapee captured in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Harrison County Community Work Center (CWC) inmate who reportedly escaped Wednesday was captured Sunday, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).

Robert Lumpkin was reportedly found walking down a street in the Kiln.

MDOC officials said authorities received a call from a concerned citizen. That call led authorities to Lumpkin. He was arrested without incident.

According MDOC, Lumpkin reported walked off the county workshop on Lorraine Road in Gulfport.

Lumpkin is serving a 12.5-year sentence for a conviction of Burglary from Pearl River County. He will be transported to Central Mississippi Correctional Facility and may receive an additional five year sentence if convicted of escape.

    Gulfport police need your help finding a runaway teen. Sgt. Joshua Bromen said 16-year-old Caitlyn Nicole Coursey was last seen leaving her home around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
