VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

This is the 15th year the Miss Mississippi Pageant has been held at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The first night of preliminary competition ended with two winners. Jordin Johnson, Miss Leaf River Valley, won the talent competition and Breanne Ponder, Miss Heartland, won swimwear.

"I think swimsuit what a lot of people don't understand is I don't necessarily have the best body up here, but it's the confidence you portray when you're on stage," said Ponder. "You work out, and you do the best you can but you get up there and you feel good about yourself and it just works."

"I've actually been a gymnast too since I was 3 years old, and a cheerleader and a dancer and so I've gotten the whole package in the past 18 years of my life," said Ponder, who performed a dance number in the talent competition.

Fans of the Miss Mississippi Pageant can vote for their favorite contestant. The contestant who wins Mississippi's Choice will be announced at the pageant Saturday night. You can vote by going to the Miss Mississippi website.

More preliminary winners will be chosen Thursday Night at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
