Car chase through Stone County nets a half kilo of meth

Posted: Updated:
STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Stone County investigators say four people are in custody.  And they're all reportedly linked to 443 grams of methamphetamine confiscated during an overnight car chase.

Stone County deputies got help from Harrison County and the Coastal Narcotics Task Force as they chased down the drug suspects on Lott Road.  During the chase, investigators say Jerrad Elsberry threw something out of his car.  When deputies retrieved that package, they say they found the meth.

Elsberry is from Stone County.  He's charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Deputies say the gun charge is related to a July 2 arrest.  The other three people arrested after the car chase are all from Harrison County.

According to investigators, the 443 grams of meth confiscated overnight has a street value of $100/gram.
