JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police say a man walked into a convenience store Sunday evening and stole several cases of beer. The thief returned later that night armed with a handgun.

According to Officer Colendula Green, officers are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Jasco Food Mart in the 1400 block of Bailey Avenue. Shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday evening, a man entered the store, grabbed three cases of beer and then fled on foot.

Green adds the beer thief then returned just hours later, around 8:40 p.m., with a gun in hand and demanded cash from the clerk.

The man was wearing a black shirt and gray blue jean shorts, but police did not give any more details on the suspect's description.

Police say no shots were fired, and no one was injured during the robbery. If you have information that may lead to an arrest in this case, please contact Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8447).
