Beer thief returns to store with gun for cash

Jackson Police say a man walked into a convenience store Sunday evening and stole several cases of beer. The thief returned later that night armed with a handgun.

According to Officer Colendula Green, officers are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Jasco Food Mart in the 1400 block of Bailey Avenue. Shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday evening, a man entered the store, grabbed three cases of beer and then fled on foot.

Green adds the beer thief then returned just hours later, around 8:40 p.m., with a gun in hand and demanded cash from the clerk.

The man was wearing a black shirt and gray blue jean shorts, but police did not give any more details on the suspect's description.
