SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Tropical storm Chantal has formed east of the Leeward islands. The storm is expected to track across the northern Caribbean toward Cuba. It is too early to know if Chantal will threaten the U.S. Gulf Coast.

According to the National Weather Service, Chantal will move into the Caribbean and then begin to curve to the right moving into the Bahamas.

A tropical storm warning has been issued for Barbados, Dominica and St. Lucia. A tropical storm watch is in effect for St. Vincent.
