Get a head start on gift giving at Christmas in July

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

This July 4th weekend, retailers are thinking holiday sales.

No it's not Independence Day savings, but Christmas in July.

Shoppers combed the aisles for unique presents at the Mississippi Trademart Saturday.

Artists and craftsmen had original gifts on display just waiting to be wrapped and saved.

The event is the second annual Christmas in July Arts and Crafts Show.

Dads could be found filling their lists and among the items were a wooden wine rack and cabinet, made from a barrel.

There was lots for mom also, like candles, aroma therapy, jewelry, clothing and much more.

Ole St. Nick even dropped in five months early to see what he'll be bringing down the chimney.

"We have everything here. We have seasonings. We have T-shirts. We have jewelry. We even have blankets back there. We have wood products. We have stained glass. We even have a Jacuzzi if you need to take a break," said Santa.

You can still get a big head start on your holiday shopping if you missing Saturday's event.

The art and crafts show continues Sunday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
