Is the old Pearl River bridge sinking?

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Jackson side of the old Pearl River bridge, that links the capital city with Flowood, is sinking. When you are headed eastbound into Rankin County, the approach to the bridge is sinking. The asphalt roadway is also cracked and leaking rainwater to undermine the road.

"I notice that this is re-occurring," said Jackson resident Bill Harvey. "It has happened before, and it's becoming a little bit worse from week to week."

Jackson Public Works Director Dan Guillyay has promised us that someone will check the problem first thing Monday morning and appropriate action will be taken.
