JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Fire officials will continue their investigation Friday morning after a blaze broke out in downtown Jackson Thursday evening.

A fire in downtown Jackson destroyed one structure and damaged two others. A two-story home was completely destroyed near the intersection of Henry and John Hart Streets while two neighboring structures were damaged by the flames.

It is unknown if anyone was in the home when the blaze originated.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze before the flames damaged the neighboring properties any further, but all three had to be boarded up after crews put out the flames. A cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
