WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Bond was set at $100,000 for a man accused of approaching two banks with a shotgun in attempts of robbing them Saturday in Warren County.

Samuel Purvis Coley, 21,of Vicksburg, was arrested Monday night and charged with attempted bank robbery.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says the Bancorp South and Trustmark on Highway 61 north both reported a slender white male armed with a shotgun had approached each building and tried to enter the lobby area.

Neither of the banks were open for lobby business on Saturday, but both offered drive thru service, so employees were at each location. The gunman reportedly approached each bank with gun in hand, according to Sheriff Pace.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect through information regarding the vehicle the would-be robber was allegedly driving, an older model Jeep Cherokee. Members of the Warren County Sheriff's Department's tactical team arrested Coley Monday night. Officers discovered a Jeep behind Coley's house.

The shotgun believed to be used in the attempted robbery was found in the corner of the bedroom where Coley was arrested.
