LEAKESVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

The father of 6-year-old, twins James Scott and Isaac William McGowan thanked those who searched for the two after they went missing in the Chickasawhay River Saturday. Officials said the two drowned.

One of the bodies of one of the boys was found Sunday, the other brother's body was found Monday.

The McGowan family issued this statement:

To all departments and volunteers involved in the recovery of James and Isaac. I truly thank you for all your undying efforts. I know there were people from all walks of life and ages involved. Some of you I know and some I may never know. It is truly a blessing to have a dedicated community that comes together in times like these.

As I journey through life, I'm often reminded of a poem titled ‘Footprints in the Sand' My friends, for the last few days; you all have made my footprints. You have walked the walk that I was unable to.

I sincerely thank you all. May God bless.

Scott McGowan

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Leakesville.
