BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Hancock High School named Jamie Sisco as the Hawks new Athletics Director.  The school board approved his hiring last Thursday and he was on the job today in the Kiln.

Sisco had been coaching the Ocean Springs Lady Greyhounds basketball team since 2010, building a consistent winner.

Did you know? When Isaiah Canaan was a young athlete he excelled in both basketball and football.  His dad, Sardie, said Biloxi High School wanted Isaiah to play football and the coaches at the time believed he would be an outstanding quarterback.  He was a winner in youth football and basketball.  Sardie said when Isaiah was a freshman he decided to give up football.  Nice decision by Canaan who was drafted 34th overall in last week's NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets.

In 2002 WLOX did a story on a Biloxi youth basketball team that captured the NBA Hoop-It-Up 11-year-old National Championship in Atlanta. Canaan was the teams play maker.  You can watch the 9-year-old Canaan in action on in the sports section.
