Gulfport police searching for hit and run suspect

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport police are asking for the public's assistance in locating 19-year-old Mark Anthony-Dewon Fairley of Gulfport.

Fairley is accused of a hit and run that seriously injured a 21-year-old man Sunday, June 23.

Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania said an investigation showed Fairley was the driver of the vehicle
that struck the victim. Papania said Fairley fled the scene after the incident in a 1997 green, Honda Accord with Mississippi license tag: FRU 632.

There is an active warrant out for Fairley's arrest.

    A man was pronounced dead after a single car accident in Pearl River County.  On April 19, Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash on I-59 around 7:30 p.m.  The victim was identified as a 71-year-old male from Moundville, AL.
