D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

An 18-year-old woman was arrested Monday after reporting she was kidnapped Sunday, according to D'Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne. However, D'Iberville police weren't able to find evidence of that kidnapping.

Payne said Taylor Paige Neville's arrest stems from her telling a family member she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend in D'Iberville. D'Iberville Police Lieutenant Terry Hines said Neville told that family member she was being held in a hotel off of Highway 90 and couldn't leave.

Hines said several law enforcement agencies assisted in searching for Neville and her vehicle, but couldn't find her. But, police were able to find the ex-boyfriend, accused of the kidnapping, and questioned him. Police later found Neville the next day at a friend's house.

Because police investigators found no evidence of a kidnapping, Neville was charged with retaliation against a victim/witness, according to Hines.

Hines said Neville has had a previous run-in with the law involving the same ex-boyfriend.

He said Neville was charged with felony malicious mischief after allegedly vandalizing her ex-boyfriend's vehicle. Hines said the ex-boyfriend told investigators he had just broken up with Neville prior to the vandalizing.

Neville is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $50,000 bond set by Judge Albert Fountain.
