Church damaged by tree through roof

VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A tree in the roof of this Vicksburg church, did not hinder Sunday services.

The congregation of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg did have Sunday service as usual today, despite the tree that was visible through the roof of the church.

The sanctuary of the church appears to have sustained heavy damage by a tree that fell onto the roof.

The church is located on Highway 27 in Vicksburg.

Powerful storms hit Warren County Friday night and caused power outages throughout much of the county, including Vicksburg. More than 17,000 customers lost power as a result of the storm.
