Fire dept.: Boy found in pool not breathing

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a drowning call involving a 22-month-old boy.

Capt. Tony Mure said a mother found her son in the pool, and he wasn't breathing. This happened near 51st Avenue and Estrella.

She called 911, and CPR was in progress when paramedics arrived, Mure said.

The boy was still not breathing when they transported him to Phoenix Children's Hospital.

His current condition is not known.

    A suspect wanted for the murder of a 72-year-old man in Independence, MO was arrested Monday in Gulfport, according to Independence Police Department spokesman John Syme.

    A news release from Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson says a deputy shot and killed an armed suspect on Lake Vista Drive. According to the sheriff, deputies went to the neighborhood off Canal Road at 5:58 Monday night. They reportedly went there for a follow-up call involving a stolen car case from earlier that day.  "A deputy discharged his weapon and the suspect was transported from the scene to a local area hospital" where he later died, the sheriff said.
