Weekend Whereabouts: June 28-30

If spending another weekend bored out of your mind brings back sad memories, think again, this is South Mississippi and were doing what we do best--having fun this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  

Be sure to line the streets of Pascagoula and watch hundreds of Carver High School alums celebrate their reunion on Saturday. They are holding a parade beginning at War Memorial Stadium at 10 a.m.

You'll see a marching band, several beautiful floats and vehicles. Parade route: Begins at War Memorial Stadium at Market Street then takes a left on Convent and heads west. Then takes a left on South Pascagoula Street and a left on Tucker Street back toward War Memorial Stadium.

Party with the Gulfport Firefighters this evening, they're holding a fundraiser for one of their own Lt. Randall Slocum who's fighting stage four brain cancer. Firefighter Greg Griffin will be performing live with the Dry Creek Band along with Autumn Rising. Dine on chicken wings, pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, and beer. A silent auction consists of gift certificates, hotel stays and art work. Plus there's a $5,000 drawdown.

This Saturday and Sunday is your chance to buy, sell or trade pieces of history at the Gulf Coast Coin Show at the Biloxi Civic Center. More than 40 vendors will be offering coins, currency, stamps and other collectibles.

Tag, post, tweet, like, share Social Media perfection at the Beau Rivage's 875 lounge. They're holding Social Media Day on Sunday. If you're thinking, ‘I can do social media anywhere,' you're right, but what you can do is take part in giveaways, while sipping on a delicious cocktail during Social Media Day. Check out 15-year-old singer Samantha Depsorte. The Vancleave native plays live at the Shed in Gulfport on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This self taught guitarist sings covers of top pop, rock and country songs. You may remember her she recently performed her original song "Take A Breath" at the D'Iberville Crawfish Festival.
