2 arrested after burglary call in Byram

BYRAM, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Byram police arrested two men Monday night after receiving an emergency call regarding a robbery in progress.

Chief Luke Thompson with Byram PD says officers responded to the 7500 block of Siwell Road for reports of a burglary around 10 p.m. Monday.

When unites arrived on scene, officers quickly arrested Marshall Kevin Creel, 42, of Brandon, on charges of grand larceny. During the course of the investigation, officers served a search warrant at a home on Creston Drive in Byram and then arrested Donald Jeffery Barrett, 37, of Mize.

Barrett is also charged with grand larceny. Both suspects were jailed in the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond to await an initial appearance in Byram Municipal Court.
