Tyndall, Golden Eagles host youth basketball camp

Monday began the final week of youth basketball camps hosted this summer by Southern Miss head coach Donnie Tyndall and his Golden Eagle basketball squad.

The individual skills camp is for kids ages five through rising high school seniors. Current and former Golden Eagles help run the camp and instruct the children, and they say they get as much out of it as the kids. "Getting to be here with them and interact one on one and get to know the kids, it's a great feeling. There is no better feeling to us," Southern Miss guard Neil Watson said. Former Golden Eagle guard Sai'Quon Stone echoed Watson's sentiments. "Working with the little kids means everything, even though their attention span is a little shorter than we're used to, but it's fun...just being a part of this camp means everything to me."

Stone also added that it is an honor to help out coach Tyndall, who helped the Brooklyn, N. Y. native return to school and earn his degree. " I give all the credit to coach Tyndall," Stone said. "Without him (Tyndall) I wouldn't have come back to school. I give him all the credit in the world. So the least I could do was come back and work the camp."

The youth camp continues through Thursday at Southern Miss.
